The "Kinderwerk" is a new organization of parents with German heritage in Oak Park. We try to create an environment where children and their parents can play, socialize, learn and exchange experiences in a German speaking environment. The group meets on a fairly regular basis in different locations. New members are always welcome.

The Nineteenth Century Club has a long history in Oak Park. It was organized in 1891 by a group of 15 women with a desire to promote social responsibility and life-long learning. The founders called themselves The Nineteenth Century Club and began studies of their own era, a period of reform and revolution.
